Sponsor Licence Compliance: Avoiding Common Pitfalls
The Home Office conducts announced and unannounced visits to sponsor licence holders to check compliance. In recent years, the frequency and rigour of these visits has increased significantly.

Common compliance failures include:

1. Poor Record-Keeping — Sponsors must maintain accurate and up-to-date records for every sponsored worker.

2. Failure to Report Changes — Sponsors must report certain changes within 10 working days using the Sponsorship Management System.

3. Not Tracking Attendance — Sponsors must have a system in place to track sponsored workers' attendance.

4. Paying Below the Approved Salary — All sponsored workers must be paid at least the salary stated on their Certificate of Sponsorship.

Non-compliance can result in your licence being downgraded, suspended, or revoked. We offer a full compliance audit service to identify gaps in your HR systems before the Home Office does.
